But who will be crowned the winner of the scrabble tournament and get the ten thousand dollar prize? But can cheaters ever really win and do real winners really cheat? Breadcrumbs - final thoughts

I recently finished Breadcrumbs and let me tell you it did not end like I thought it would. For those of you who haven't read Breadcrumbs it is about 2 best friends who love super heros, adventure, and magic. They do everything together from sledding to drawing. This book is also the NPR kids book club book for December. If you want you can post a picture of you reading the book on to their website. You can also post questions for the author on the NPR website and the author will answer questions at the end of the month.
Breadcrumbs was a great book about the power of friendship.
Calamity Jack by Dan Hale and Shannon Hale
I just finished the graphic novel Calamity Jack. I am a huge fan of these books. But apparently not as big of a fan as the girl above. The first book is still my favorite because you hear the book in the voice of a girl and it was a very original take on Rapunzel's story. As for this book, it was told in the voice of a boy but is still quite original. I would recommend this book to any one who likes a good graphic novel.

Rapunzel's Revenge by channon and Dan Hale illustrated by Nathan Hale
This story on Rapunzel takes a totally new turn with a twist of the wild west. At first, the book seems princess-like
and Rapunzel appears as just a cute princess. But then her story takes a wild turn from princess to a wild outlaw. Here is a map of where Rapunzel's journey takes place.
Here is the book trailer. I hope you enjoy it. This book is one of my new favorite graphic novels. Although I am still a fan of the Amulet Series.
I just ordered book two called Calamity Jack. I can not wait to read it.

Breadcrumbs first thoughts
"Now the world is more than it seems to be. You know this, of course, because you read stories. You understand that there is the surface and then there are all the things that glimmer and shift underneath it. And you know that not everyone believes in those things, that there are people - a great many people who believe the world cannot be any more than what they can see with their eyes. But we know better."
You probably think this book is brilliant and beautiful all throughout this story. And I do agree. Ann Ursu's book is a complete masterpiece - so far. This story brings readers rich into adventure, mystery, and magic through its two main characters Hazel and Jack. You can not put this book down.
If you want to join the NPR book club, Breadcrumbs is the book for December. On the website you can ask questions and post a picture of you reading the book.

Diary of a Wimpy kid Cabin Fever
Once again Diary of a wimpy kid is a complete success. The laughs and jokes in this book are still five star quality. Just let me say one thing, I love Diary of a Wimpy kid series. I will never stop loving the Diary of a wimpy kid books. But let me tell you the tittle of this book can be misleading.

Marimo
This 10 minute Japanese short film reminds me of Where The Red Fern Grows in so many ways. The best part was the second half, the dog's point of view.
Warning!
This may cause tears.

the cats of elsewhere (Book Update!)
Hello followers. I have exciting news, I have spotted what looks like the cats in The Books of ElseWhere. As you can see the black cat is Leopold, the fat orange cat is Horatio, and last but not least is little Harvey.
Don't you just love it when you see characters in your real world? They may not look exactly like the cats in the book but it was cool to see the characters come to life.
This has been another book update by Me!!!!
I hope you like my little furry friends. Catch you later.

Midnighters Book 2 Touching Darkness
This quote and review sum up the author's writing style perfectly.
"Fast paced and spooky a good read for the dark hours."
Here is my own review of this book.
Imagine if your best friend could fly you through the air. Imagine if your best friend could see your darkest thoughts and your private thoughts. Imagine if you had secrets that could destroy the things you love.
There seems to be some sort of rivalry online between Twilighters and Midnighters. But Midnighters has nothing to do with Twilighters. Weird right?

Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld
Here is a picture of the main characters in the book, Midnighters:The Secret Hour.
What would you do with a extra hour every day? What would you do if you had a secret power and a secret hour added to every day? Jessica Day discovers that when you are born at midnight you get a secret hour. She meets other kids who have access to the secret hour too. She also meets monsters that lurk in the secret hour. This book is one of my new favorite books now because of all the adventure, friend ship and, how the author describes the characters feel in the book. If you are a fan of The Lost Hero you would really like this book too.

When there mom gets kidnapped they find a new world with new friends, enemies, and adventures.
This book trailer gives you a graphic image of what the book is like. I hope you like it.

The Son of Neptune
"The thing about plummeting downhill at fifty miles an hour on a snack platter - if you realize it's a bad idea when you're halfway down, it's too late."
~ Percy Jackson, The Son of Neptune
I am currently reading The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan and am halfway through. I love it. I am anxious for the characters of the Roman camp to meet the characters from the Greek camp.

Familiars by the writing team of Adam J. and Andrew Jacobson
Familiars is an enchanting book which mixes the adventure of Warriors and the magic of Harry Potter. The main characters in this book are a street cat named Aldwyn, a know it all blue jay named Skyler, and a funny tree frog named Gilbert. They are sent on an epic quest into the heart of Vastia to save their friends. The book twists and turns with adventure and surprises. I would recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed the Golden Compass, Warrior Cats, or the Harry Potter series. I still recommend Familiars even if you have not read or enjoyed those books. Here is a link to the book's website.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
This is a sing song adventure book where the main character, September, goes on an epic quest in a place called fairyland. I have really never read a book quite like this book, but if you like adventure and a good long book this is the book for you. I am a lot like September in the book because if a man ever came to my house with a leopard and said he would take me to fairyland I would go. Even though I am not finished with this book, I have a feeling I know how it ends. I think that with all the protests going on in the real world it is a lot like this book because the people of fairyland need to stand up to their ruler.
Or if that was not good enough for you try this:
If you are still not convinced to read this book let the author, Catherynne M. Valentine, tell you in this sneek peak of the first chapter.
She liked anything orange: leaves, some moons, marigolds, chrysanthemums, cheese, pumpkin, both in pie and out, orange juice, marmalade. Orange was bright and demanding. You couldn’t ignore orange things. She once saw an orange parrot in the pet store and had never wanted anything so much in her life. She would have named it Halloween and fed it butterscotch. Her mother said butterscotch would make a bird sick and besides the dog would certainly eat it up. September never spoke to the dog again, on principle.
Or if that was not good enough for you try this:
All children are Heartless. They have not grown a heart yet, which is why they can climb high trees and say shocking things and leap so very high grown-up hearts flutter in terror. Hearts weigh quite a lot. That is why it takes so long to grow one. But, as in their reading and arithmetic and drawing, different children proceed at different speeds. (It is well known that reading quickens the growth of a heart like nothing else.) Some small ones are terrible and fey, Utterly Heartless. Some are dear and sweet and Hardly Heartless At All. September stood very generally in the middle on the day the Green Wind took her, Somewhat Heartless, and Somewhat Grown.
Here is a video sneak peek of the book.

The name of this post is secret
I have a riddle: What is not enough for 1 person, too much for 3 people and just right for 2 people?
A secret.
In the Secret series you will discover the meaning of life and much more. The author, pseudonymous Bosch, tries to get you to not read his book. Crazy, right? An author not wanting anyone to read his books. I think pseudonymous Bosch has a secret or two that he is hiding.* All five books in the Secret series are very good but the last paragraph of the last book is.... well you will have to find out for yourself.
Do not click here to find out more about his books on his website.
*Something stinks, either it is your foot or my foot note.

The books of Elsewhere by Jacqueline West
11 year old Olive just moved into a scary old house with her parents who work at a college. As Olive explores more of her new house, she discovers new secrets that are hidden within the house. She also meets some new friends and new villans. I am on the second book of this series and I absolutely love these books. The mystery and treasures that await you in this book are extraordinary.
Here is a great excerpt to give you a taste of the author's style of writing:
The cat turned with a swish of his huge tail and headed towards the window. " I will be keeping an eye on you, " he said. ' Personally, I like seeing someone new in this place." Squishing his orange bulk through the window, the cat stepped out onto the balcony and disappeared.
Ripples of goose bumps scuttled from Olives toes all the way to her scalp. She grabbed Hershel's fuzzy body and squeezed it. " I'm dreaming aren't I?' She asked him. Hershel did not answer.
In the distance she heard her father knocking his toothbrush on the sink. The house creaked. A twig of the ash tree tapped softly against her window, again and again, like a small, patient hand.

Where The Red Fern Grows By Wilson Rawls
I first found out about the story of Where the Red Fern Grows when I watched the movie. Years later, I read the book for a school project and fell in love with it even though I already knew the whole story. The book was more detailed about Billy's life than the movie was. The writer's words flowed nicely and he used juicy words. Right away I knew I was a lot like Billy, the main character in the book. Billy is very adventurous and very determined to get what he wants. I felt another connection because I know what its like to really love a dog. The adventures and excitement in the book make you not want to put this book down. The author brings the action to life with his unique choice of descriptive words. For example, dogs boil out of an ally and scoot under a barn. I would recommend this book for dog lovers and anyone who has ever loved a pet.
Favorite Quote from the book:
"Although they couldn't talk in my terms, they had a language of their own that was easy to understand. Sometimes I would see the answer in their eyes, and again it would be in the friendly wagging of their tails. Other times I could hear the answer in a low whine or feel it in the soft caress of a warm flicking tongue. In some way, they would always answer." - Wilson Rawls chapter 7 Where the Red Fern Grows

How to be responsible as a blogger
Treat your blog like a friend, or as google's motto says, "Don't be evil." Or as yoda said, “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
